Ballet for Young People
February 15 at 1:30 p.m.
Dip into George Balanchine’s adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a story of mischief, merriment and mismatched romance, reimagined in the spellbinding setting of South Florida’s coastal waters. Shakespeare’s comedic characters — feuding Titania and Oberon, fiendish Puck and a quartet of hapless romantics — are brought to life through Balanchine’s intricate choreography. It’s all set to Mendelssohn’s whimsical fairy-tale score.
