Professional dancers over 18 are invited to experience the improv technique of Ayikodans. Be ready to move and to be moved.
Led by Jeanguy Saintus, an internationally acclaimed choreographer and the company’s artistic director, alongside his vibrant dancers and collaborators, the workshop promises an insight into the emergence of a new, contemporary Haitian aesthetic that, while rooted in tradition, reflects a modern Caribbean culture and creativity that awes people who associate Haiti with disaster, poverty and helplessness.
Plus, join Ayikodans for a free evening of song and dance on Sunday, May 28 at 6 p.m. Ayikodans explores Haitian culture through song, dance and tradition. Selected works will be performed by Ayikodans company members and artistically supported by CaribbeanCraft and Ayikodans partners. The evening marks the Miami return of the company and is presented by the Adrienne Arsht Center with generous support by the Green Family Foundation Trust. THE EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT.
