The Arsht Center recognizes three people who have made significant contributions to arts and culture in Miami.
The Adrienne Arsht Center’s gala boasts a Parisian theme this year: “Ville Lumière – City of Light.” A band will perform French jazz, the lights will be dimmed to evoke the city at dusk and the dress code will be “à la mode de Paris.” For all the Gallic vibes, the 18th annual event’s raison d’être remains the Center’s arts education programming and a celebration of all who support it. Miami will very much be in the spotlight.
To that end, this year’s gala will also debut the Arsht Awards, a ceremony recognizing three people who have had a profound effect on the Arsht Center’s mission to engage and connect every resident of Miami-Dade County through the arts. The inaugural class of honorees are:
• Adrienne Arsht for the Arsht Angel Award, which recognizes an individual who has supported the Arsht Center’s work through significant and sustained financial contributions.
• Marshall L. Davis for the Arsht Education Champion Award, which honors an individual who has made significant contributions to arts education in Miami-Dade County.
• Ruth W. Greenfield for the Parker Thomson Legacy Award, given to a person who has significantly enriched the cultural landscape of Miami-Dade County and advanced the mission of the Arsht Center.
