THE WALLS GROUP, a Houston-based, Stellar Award-winning, Grammy-nominated gospel group (Best Gospel Album, 2015, 2018 and 2019), are a new generation of gifted kinfolk, continuing the legacy created by so many family vocal groups over the years. The group includes siblings Darrel, Rhea, Paco and Ahjah — four of Roger and Alicia Walls’ eight children. With musically inclined parents, these kids could not escape the melodies and harmonies that coursed throughout their household and seeped into their souls.
In 2012, the group broke through on the Billboard charts with their album The Walls Group, and in 2014, they released their debut studio album, Fast Forward, with RCA Records and Fo Yo Soul Recordings, which charted on the Billboard 200. The group was nominated for Best Gospel Performance/Song at the 2015 Grammy Awards for their song "Love on the Radio".
“The Walls have an undeniable family bond and sound,” award-winning gospel singer Jonathan Nelson says. “It’s so refreshing to see this group of brothers and sisters united in harmony and in spirit. After experiencing the Walls, you won’t be the same. I love seeing family and ministry merge into something powerful. Yes, that’s the Walls.”
Darrel, Rhea, Paco and Ahjah are on a fast track to music notoriety, but under the watchful eye and firm hands of parents who have instilled the Word of God into them. Ministry is the heart of THE WALLS GROUP and singing is the vessel in which to tell of the good news. Their youthful voices stand toe to toe with some of the leading gospel artist today. Worship, contemporary gospel and a blend of urban pop comes alive with their charming charisma and stage presence. For more information, visit https://thewallsgroup.org/.
First Access Passes for THE WALLS GROUP will be available beginning November 11 at noon. Details here.
*This performance of THE WALLS GROUP will replace a previously announced concert starring THE KINGDOM CHOIR as part of the Arsht Center’s 2021-2022 Free Gospel Sundays series.
