Students are immersed in an authentic Broadway process through a wide array of classes, workshops and experiences. Inspired by Broadway’s cherished works and steeped in its grand traditions, Camp Broadway is designed to inspire creative expression and instill well-being in aspiring students and future audiences.
Taught by accomplished Broadway professionals with expertise in staging, choreography and music direction, campers are split into small groups (by age) and led through a rigorous rehearsal process to master songs and scenes from a beloved Broadway. The 5-day program will culminate in a musical finale on the Arsht Center stage!
This summer, students from Camp Broadway Miami will be performing highlights from How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying!
Big business means big laughs in this delightfully clever lampoon of life on the corporate ladder. A tune-filled comic gem that took Broadway by storm, winning the Tony Award for Best Musical and a Pulitzer Prize, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying! boasts an exhilarating score by Frank Loesser that includes "I Believe in You," "Brotherhood of Man" and "The Company Way."
A satire of big business and all it holds sacred, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying! follows the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, who uses a little handbook titled "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" to climb the corporate ladder from lowly window washer to high-powered executive, tackling such familiar but potent dangers as the aggressively compliant "company man," the office party, backstabbing co-workers, caffeine addiction and, of course, true love.
