The Barber of Seville
by Gioacchino Rossini
The Barber of Seville is back at FGO, complete with characters as colorful as their costumes, as vibrant as the sets and as charming as Gioacchino Rossini’s irresistible score.
Opera’s most beloved rascal, the barber Figaro, helps young Count Almaviva woo and win the lovely Rosina. She may be the ward and intended wife of Dr. Bartolo, but Rosina has a will of her own, and her plans do not include marriage to a fussy old man.
Disguises, romance, plots and secret messages ensue as Rossini’s intricate and infectious melodies lead a merry chase through the madcap comedy. Between belly laughs, you’ll be dancing in your seat.
Sung in Italian with English and Spanish projected translations.
