Gustav Mahler's Blumine sets the atmosphere for two world premieres commissioned by the Miami Symphony Orchestra. The first one is Rodner Padilla's Concerto for Electric Bass and Orchestra, which brings an exotic blend of tradition and modernity. Then, the beautiful melodic lines of Karen LeFrak's Piano Concerto closes the first half. The concert concludes with the fascinating musical discourse of all-time favorite Symphony No. 4 by Johannes Brahms.
