PIANO SLAM 2024 is a classical, Afropop and spoken word mashup featuring Miami’s top teen poets and winners of a countywide competition. Inspired by this year’s theme, “Rhythms and Writings of Restoration,” these young poets will perform alongside classical-piano duo Inesa Gegprifti and Asiya Korepanova, The New Canon Chamber Collective and DJ Anthony Laurencio. The show is directed by Tanisha Cidel and will feature a performance of Chucho Valdés’ “Suite Afrocubana a Lico Jiménez.”
In partnership with the Arsht Center since 2007, more than 115,000 Miami-Dade County Public School students have participated in PIANO SLAM programs, submitted over 27,000 poems and been judged by a jury of published poets.
Admission to PIANO SLAM 2024 is free. However, first-access passes are required. Get your first-access passes now!
Please note: First-access passes do not guarantee entry and expire 15 minutes prior to the performance. First-access passes must be obtained for every member of your party regardless of age. There is a limit of six passes per household. Guests will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis.
