Due to unforeseen circumstances, Siempre Flamenco's Canta la Guitarra, scheduled for Thursday, August 22, 2024, has been canceled.
The 18th edition of Siempre Flamenco's Festival de Cante Flamenco is thrilled to bring Miami audiences a spine-tingling experience! This mesmerizing and passionate production focuses on the art of flamenco singing. The soulful, gripping sounds of Cante Flamenco — traditional flamenco song — are believed to have their roots in the medieval music of Spain with strong Moorish, Gypsy and Jewish influences. Enjoy the opportunity to watch an art form seldom heard outside Spain.
This year’s festival features acclaimed Spanish Flamenco singers Macarena de Jerez, José Campos “Morenito Hijo” and Ismael Fernandez; exceptional guitarist José Cortés “Panzekito”; great dancer Sonia Olla and rising dance sensation José Jiménez “El Bocadillo”. Siempre Flamenco's founding members Paco and Celia Fonta will join the ensemble with their guitar and dance, respectively, and complete this terrific lineup of flamenco artists. Celia and Paco are the recipients of the Florida Folk Heritage Award, the state's highest honor for folk and traditional arts.
Intimate, passionate, raw and bewitching! Deep emotions emanate from flamenco songs and unite with the intricate fury of dance in a performance that will exhilarate audiences with an up-close, intimate experience.
You will not want to miss this extravaganza!
