Elaine D. Nelson, affectionately known as “Lady Elaine,” was born and raised in the city of Miami, Florida to the parents of Mother Rosa Nelson and the late Apostle Mosby.
At the early age of 5, Elaine began singing and playing drums with her parents in a family group titled The Spiritual Echoes. Lady Nelson is the co-founder and lead singer of The Miracle Lights of Miami, Florida. The Miracle Lights was formed in 1984. Lady Elaine and her sisters have been blessed to sing throughout the world. In 1996 Lady Elaine and her sisters released an album titled FINALLY. Later they released a single titled “Its’ My Right.” In 2008 the Miracle Lights were awarded the GMWA James Cleveland Award for Best Quartet Gospel Singers. In the year 2008, Lady Elaine and The Miracle Lights signed a recording contract with Destiny Joy Records founder Vicki Winans.
In 2012 Elaine Nelson released her first single titled “I Am,” which is playing on international radio stations and local radio stations throughout the states. In 2013 Elaine Nelson released an album titled NEW DAY. In 2019 she released another single titled “When the Rubber Meets the Road."
Lady Elaine Nelson has been awarded a Proclamation from the City of Opa Locka by Mayor Myra Taylor declaring December 7 as Elaine D. Nelson Day. In March 2015, Lady Elaine Nelson was awarded the 2015 Women of Power Distinguish Award. Lady Elaine Nelson was also awarded the 2017 NAACP Image Awards by the Florida Memorial College for Outstanding Group Leadership in the community. In February 2019, Elaine was awarded The South Florida Legends Award by the Miami-Dade Alliance of Gospel Music Professionals by president Johnny Sanders. Her accolades also include an Adrienne Collier Ford Award from Coffee Break with Charley. In 2022 the I Am a Women Foundation recognized Lady Elaine for her outstanding work in the community as a woman advocacy. In 2020 she was awarded the Tampa Bay Traditional Gospel Artist Award of the Year. The Praise & Worship Awards community recognized and awarded her the 2023 Host/MC Award of the Year. I Support Gospel Music community also crowned her Florida Queen of Quartet in 2023.
In 2019 Lady Elaine formed an organization titled Life Behind Closed Doors. This organization was born because Lady Elaine is a survivor of a 3-year domestic violence relationship. Her first book The Hidden Rage was published in 2019. She is currently writing her second book The White Picket Fence.
Lady Elaine Nelson believes in prayer and giving God her best praise. Her daily admiration is “I will love you today because tomorrow is not promised.”
