Due to forecasted inclement weather, Live on the Plaza: Abstract Citizen, scheduled for Wednesday, March 6, has been canceled.
Experience the innovative sounds of Abstract Citizen, a jazz group pushing boundaries and blending genres. Their captivating performances weave modern jazz, Peruvian folk and bluegrass influences. Grab a drink and take your friends to this musical odyssey.
Abstract Citizen is the newest group from guitarist and composer Aaron Lebos. The band performs modern jazz, and most of its music was written in the first months of the pandemic.
Lebos is a Miami native who has been an active member of the music scene since he was 16 years old. He has played with some of the biggest names in South Florida such as Nicole Henry, Spam All-Stars, Nu Deco Ensemble and his previous original group Aaron Lebos Reality. He incorporates his diverse and eclectic style into the music of Abstract Citizen.
Joining Lebos is a remarkable band featuring some of the most in-demand and creative musicians in South Florida. The quartet consists of Justine Garcia on vocals, Marty Quinn on bass and Brahm Masla on drums, all of whom are graduates of the highly acclaimed University of Miami jazz program. In the past few years, they have regularly played at Miami hot spots such as Lagniappe House and The Fish House.
Live on the Plaza is a series of outdoor concerts on our Parker and Vann Thomson Plaza for the Arts.
