Program:
BIZET Suite from L'Arlésienne (comp. Denève)
LALO Symphonie espagnole
DVOŘÁK Symphony No. 8
Edouard Lalo’s "Symphonie espagnole" provides the perfect showpiece for Spanish violinist Maria Dueñas, one of today’s most exciting young talents, who makes her Cleveland Orchestra debut in this performance. French maestro Stéphane Denève pairs Lalo’s fiery Spanish rhythms with the Provençal sunshine of Bizet’s L’Arlésienne Suite and the bucolic Bohemia of Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8, featuring musicians of the New World Symphony side by side with The Cleveland Orchestra.
